I will start on a favorite for any one who loves Kakashi Hatake or Sasuke Uchiha. Yes, the Sharingan, also in use by Itachi Uchiha.
First off, the Sharingan is a Keke Genkai that can be used exclusively by the Uchiha clan and Kakashi Hatake, but telling you why would be a spoiler for those who follow the English version aired in America, so I'll stick with that for now. However, anyone who wants more info may private message me with the title line being Sharingan with spoilers.
A quick note, not everyone who uses the Sharingan may use the complete Sharingan. Someone just coming into the Sharingan will have one dot in both eyes. Until the Sharingan is completed, the number of dots will fluctuate until there is three in both eyes. After some dramatic event happens in the life of a true heir to the Uchiha clan, the complete Sharingan will evolve into the Mangekyo Sharingan, which allows the use of special Bloodline Jutsu, which aren't Keke Genkai in their own respect, but can only be used with the Sharingan Keke Genkai, and only with the Advanced (Mangekyo) Sharingan.
Now, the Sharingan may seem powerful, allowing the ability to copy another shinobi's jutsu. This is a misconception. The Sharingan only has one ability: the ability to pay close attention to an opponent, or to multiple opponents. This eye-based ability allows the user to pay such close attention to small details (not necessarily in the way of individual blades of grass) that mimicing handsigns is possible, and it allows the Uchiha clan to quickly master several jutsu in a short amount of time.
Anyone who has seen recent episodes also knows that the Sharingan, when in the hands of a true heir, can be used to activate a special jutsu, a Secret Bloodline Jutsu, called the Tsukoyomi. Tsukoyomi is a type of Genjutsu that allows the user to, more or less, torture the opponent by making one second seem like three days (the 72 hour comment Itachi makes to Kakashi) while constantly causing the victim pain. In the Tsukoyomi, there is always a black moon, red sky, and all figures are black with a white outline.
Another technique that is open only to true heirs of the Uchiha Clan, and therefore their Keke Genkai, is called Amateresu. Amateresu is a flame-based jutsu that is so strong that it can easily blast through walls, wooden, stone, or stomach (Jeraiya's Belly of the Toad Jutsu), and leave a searing black flame in it's wake. It is said that, unless sealed, the flame will burn for eternity.
I may have more at a later date.

I will describe another Bloodline Trait, this time the Byakugan.
The Byakugan is a Keke Genkai usable by the Hyuga Clan. The Hyuga Clan is another long line of blood relatives that is based in Konohoa, better known as the Hidden Leaf Village. The only known Gennin who use the Byakugan are Neji and Hinata Hyuga, cousins of the Hyuga Clan.
The Byakugan is characterized by a pale, pinkish eye when not in use. When the Bloodline Trait is active, the same pale pupil seems to be stressed, as what appear to be blood veins appear in the center, where the iris should be, forming an incomplete circle. The sides of the eyes are surrounded by more veins, and it gives users of the Byakugan very strained look when they activate the eye-based Jutsu.
This ability gives the user three main abilities. The first is the ability to see the enemy's chakra points and network. This one ability opens up a host of other options, all of which focus on the Gentle Fist Style, a fighting technique in which actually striking the opponent is not the main goal. The Gentle Fist Style allows the user, who must activate the Byakugan and focus chakra to their hands, to block off or completely open the chakra points of another person, in affect unleashing their full potential or draining them of all their power. The Gentle Fist Style's art of focusing chakra into the opponent's chakra streams to open or close these points is called Eight Trigrams, and starts with "Eight Trigrams Two Palms" and doubles until "Eight Trigrams Two-Hundred Fifty Six Palms", which closes off or opens all the chakra points of the entire body.
A defensive technique also presented in the Gentle Fist Style is called "Rotation." Rotation is a defense-based jutsu that utilizes the user's chakra to close others' attacks. The chakra is focused through the hands and the user spins at high speeds, creating an effective barrier through which no jutsu can pass.
The second ability grants the user to see up to 100 yards with perfect vision, as long as the user looks directly ahead.
The final ability grants the user to see in an almost three-hundred and sixty degree circle, with only one blind spot, and to see through whatever the user desires in this area (rocks, trees, walls).
More later as the Naruto story develops.

The Chidori is, as Might Gai explains, a jab.
"It is the only technique in Kakashi's arsenal that he didn't copy. Chakra is focused into the palm of the hand, and this concentration is so strong that the chakra becomes visible. But in order to use this technique, one must be able to run at high speeds and maintain focus on his chakra long enough to execute the attack. It is used mainly as an assassination technique. But when the chakra is focused, it gives off a distinct sound, almost like chirping birds. That is what gives this technique its name...
CHIDORI! One Thousand Birds!"
Might Gai couldn't be more correct.
The strain the Chidori puts on the user's body is so strong that this jutsu can usually only be used once or twice a day, as in Sasuke's case, or three or four times a day with extreme training, as in Kakashi Hatake's case.
Spoiler Alert: Contains future information. (According to the TV series on Cartoon Network.)
After Sasuke goes away with Orochimaru to train, it is said that he can control the flow of the electical energy that flies from the Chidori, and makes it flow around his body, creating a dangerous hazard for anyone who prefers hand-to-hand combat.
There are also many game-related variants that I will reveal later.

Here are a few flame-based echniques that are very much favored by Sasuke, well, before he learned Chidori, obviously.
First up is the Fire Ball Jutsu. Fire Ball is just what it sounds like: a ball of fire. By performing six handsigns, chakra is built up in the mouth. By placing your hand, in a fashion similar to the O.K. sign, in front of your mouth and blowing air through, you can create a large ball of searing flame.
Next, is the Pheonix Flower Jutsu, more or less a variant of Fire Ball. A few handsigns are added or altered, and suddenly, one can fire several, albeit smaller, fire balls. I believe Sasuke used up to six or seven with one use of the jutsu. Believe it or not, this one jutsu gave Orochimaru a run for his money.
Now we'll look briefly at the Dragon Flame Jutsu. This Jutsu is often used in combination with the Sharingan Triple Windmill attack. This Uchiha-developed Taijutsu uses mutliple shuriken with invisible wire attached to trap an opponent, in Sasuke's Forest of Death scenario, Orochimaru against a tree. Then, the Dragon Flame Jutsu is launched along the wire at the trapped ninja, and when it came in contact with Orochimaru, it scorched half of his face. (It should be noted that Orochimaru's "face" was a mask fashioned after a dead ninja's face.) This jutsu is very dangerous though, as it requires a lot of chakra and can often produce a flame so hot that forest fires are very much possible, even if the flames never truly touch the forest.

Water Jutsu are favored by the Hidden Mist Village, only partially because they are completely surrounded by water. Lots of water.
First of all, let's talk about the Water Clone Jutsu. Water Clone is a simple jutsu that uses pools of water to create multiples of oneself, warping the liquid into a shape identical to you in every way. This clone can also use jutsu, though it may not be as powerful as your own, especially when you take into account the fact that this clones rely on your chakra to sustain them. When the clones use up all their chakra, they become pools of water again.
Water Prison. Sounds nice, huh? Basically, a sphere of water surrounds the opponent, and traps them there. The only catch is the fact that constant contact and constant chakra circulation is required, which is why it is often used in combination with Water Clone.
And the Obscuring Mist Jutsu. Zabuza Mimochi used this trick against Kakashi Hatake to cancel the Sharingan's effectiveness. This lower-level jutsu is great for reducing the opponent's eye sight and range.
How about Water Vortex? This very nice jutsu creates a vertical, circular wall of water about a foot or three thick directly in front of you. It then, once completed, is launched at your opponent with force enough to render them suceptible to pressure due to water. Usually used to capture opponents, instead of defeat them.
Perhaps my favorite of the Water Jutsu is next: Water Dragon. This technique is very difficult. It requires a long string of handsigns, though technically the same three in a very complex pattern, the correct incantation of the handsign's names in the same order as they are performed, and a great deal of chakra. But all the hard work and effort pay off in the end. When finished, a very, very large Chinese-style dragon made completely out of water arises and attacks the opponent with everything it's got, and considering the entire source of water, say the lake right behind you, can be used in this jutsu, it's got a lot.
And let's not forget the Second Hokage's signature jutsu: Tidal Surge Jutsu. Though it requires what seems to be an endless supply of chakra, it creates water out of the moisture in the air and lunges it at the opponent with enough power to equal a large tidal wave, thus the name. Few claim enough power to withstand such an attack, and even fewer claim enough power to wield it.

A hunter's greatest tool is the ability to render their prey helpless. This is the basis for the Head Hunter Jutsu. It allows movement underground long enough for one to sneak up to their opponents and pull them underground, leaving only their head above ground, which is a nice tactic for scaring weary travelers.
What about defensive Jutsu? Maybe you like fortification? Then Mud Wall is for you. It creates a large wall, based upon the amount of chakra you put into the jutsu, made out of mud to rise and defend you, your allies, or even a city.
Mud Clones are also great. They use the natural earth to generate clones to hide your own presence and launch attacks at enemies your designate.

Shadow Jutsu include Shadow Clone, Shadow Shuriken, and other variants.
Shadow Clone creates copies of the user to do battle against mutliple foes, or just one if really ferocious. The user's chakra is spread evenly among all clones created.
Shadow Shuriken, also used for every type of thrown weapon imaginable, creates "clones" of weapons thrown to increase the threat range, or just damage dealt to, and opponent or multiple opponents.
Shadow Possesion uses the shadow of the user to capture an opponent, and ultimately restricts their movement to what ever the user desires. However, it takes up a lot of chakra and needs absolute attention to maintain.
